The SportsFit NDIS team

NDIS sports physio team, Five Dock and Gladesville

Seven clinicians. Three have worked in Paralympic sport. Our team includes clinicians who have worked at the Wheelchair Rugby World Cup, with the NSW Paralympic Football team and with the Australian Paralympic Volleyball team. For an NDIS participant with a sporting goal, that is direct knowledge of what para-sport asks of a body and what it takes to get there.

Physiotherapists

Jay Kasthuriarachchi

Principal Physiotherapist

Five Dock & Gladesville

NSW Paralympic Football · Wheelchair Rugby World Cup · NRL

Jay is the Principal Physiotherapist and founder of SportsFit. His career spans the NRL with South Sydney Rabbitohs, the role of Head Physiotherapist for the NSW Paralympic Football team, and the Wheelchair Rugby World Cup, which puts him at the intersection of high performance sport and disability. Jay also lectures at Macquarie University and works with sporting clubs across Sydney.

Edmond Ma

Principal Physiotherapist & Accredited Exercise Physiologist

Gladesville

Dual qualified · Paralympic snowboarding programme

Edmond is a Principal Physiotherapist and an Accredited Exercise Physiologist based at Gladesville. Holding both qualifications means he can carry a participant across rehabilitation and long term conditioning without handing them between clinicians. He currently works with an NDIS participant training towards Paralympic snowboarding.

Seth Chen

Physiotherapist & Strength and Conditioning Coach

Gladesville

Australian Paralympic Volleyball team

Seth is both a Physiotherapist and a qualified Strength and Conditioning Coach, so he can manage an injury and write the training programme within the same clinical relationship. His work with the Australian Paralympic Volleyball team is direct experience of adaptive sport at national level.

Exercise Physiologists

Kevin Wong

Senior Physiotherapist & Accredited Exercise Physiologist

Five Dock

Dual qualified physiotherapy and exercise physiology

Kevin holds qualifications as both a Physiotherapist and an Accredited Exercise Physiologist. For participants who need both, he can often cover them in one appointment rather than two, which keeps the plan simpler and the funding going further.

Andrew Lai

Accredited Exercise Physiologist

Five Dock

Chronic pain · Neurological rehabilitation

Andrew works in chronic pain management, neurological rehabilitation and complex presentations, which covers a good deal of what NDIS participants bring through the door. He is experienced with NDIS documentation, goal setting and progress reporting, so the paperwork side is straightforward for participants and plan managers.

Strength & Conditioning and Chiropractic

Strength and conditioning is available at both clinics. Seth Chen covers Gladesville as part of his physiotherapy and S&C role. David Lambropoulos and Daniel Mullen are based at Five Dock.

David Lambropoulos

Sports Chiropractor & Strength and Conditioning Coach

Five Dock

Chiropractic and S&C

Dave is a Sports Chiropractor and a qualified Strength and Conditioning Coach, which covers both the clinical and the training side for participants whose presentation crosses the two. He works closely with the physiotherapy team so the S&C programme and the clinical management agree with each other.

Daniel Mullen

Strength and Conditioning Coach

Five Dock

Sydney Cricket Club · Riverview Rugby

Daniel is a qualified Strength and Conditioning Coach with a background in cricket and rugby programmes including Sydney Cricket Club and Riverview Rugby. For NDIS participants he writes adaptive programmes aimed at a specific performance outcome rather than generic gym work, under the clinical supervision of the physiotherapy team.
